Christmas
I mean. We started listening to the music November 24th, Scott put
our lights up November 28th, and on December 1st we
visited Santa. It was a rough year for George, but we knew what to expect after
taking Jane when she was George’s age (I’ve mentioned it in the past, but read
Scott’s hilarious article here for more details on that . . . )
George did
make it in the official Santa photo, which is a win considering my sister Kyle
abstained the year she was George’s age! I’ll post the photo here once it
arrives in the mail – but be forewarned that Melmo is acting as our honorary
third child this year – there was absolutely no way George was getting on that
man’s lap without him.
Jane
fared much better – she managed to remember all the important items on her
list and seemed relieved to get the order in early.
George did manage a smile once Santa was out of view.
And Scott and I were
ecstatic that there was absolutely zero line. Scott gets the credit for that –
it was all his idea to make the trip so early, but then he is the one who
usually bears the brunt of the long wait. It only took us five years to beat the
system!
Post
visit we checked out the Gingerbread Village at the Sheraton. A Charlie Brown Christmas, The Polar
Express, and A Christmas Story were all re-imagined in
gingerbread and enjoyed by the kids.
Although I think George was more
interested in his cookie and was possibly still in shock after Santa.
