We’ve been hit with a nasty stomach bug – it got George first and me shortly thereafter. It’s been the opposite of fun. Hopefully the other two of us will be spared. I also hope to be back in fighting form tomorrow. I think my date with the couch & the Oscars should cure me completely.
Needless to say, I haven’t gotten much accomplished since Thursday. But I do have some photos from earlier in the month that I’ve been meaning to share. So let’s just focus on those for today.

went by too fast.
Today
was Jane’s first day of kindergarten!
It went well – no tears (from her anyway – I may have shed one or two!)
People
tell me that time will now fly by and before we know it we’ll have a
highschooler. I don’t doubt it. But 2023 sounds really really far away. All I
can do is try to soak up as many precious moments as possible and preserve them
in photos and journals (and this blog) and maybe that will slow down the clock just enough. If
not, at least someday I’ll have a shelf full of bottled time.

Just
found out about the august break via Susannah Conway – sounds perfect to me! So
expect more photos here this month & less words. A few words might sneak
their way in, but I like the idea of the photos speaking for themselves.

took an after-dinner surprise trip to her new school’s playground. I hadn’t set
foot on it since 3rd grade. She will literally be following in my
footsteps this fall.
