some random bits & pieces:

1. Yesterday I started a new knitting project: this simple ribbed cowl found via Ravelry.

Mine is a deep blue and I hope I finish it before spring (I knit slow)

2. I saw a girl wearing clogs like these this morning and now I’m obsessed. Are clogs back? I haven’t worn clogs in at least 10+ years and suddenly I think I need them.

3. This reminds me – I’m also obsessed with a blouse I saw somewhere (I can’t remember where – maybe Lucky magazine? – but the image is stuck in my head) It might have been this blouse by Alexa Chung for Madewell?

I’m not sure, but I found a dusty rose version at H&M and it will have to suffice for now.

4. I read this article on Wayne Thiebaud in the NY Times last Sunday – I love his work.

5. Today I tried Starbucks’ new Cinnamon Spice Via C instant coffee and I was surprised to discover (I’ve never liked flavored coffee before) that it tastes almost as good as a Cinnamon Dolce latte. This is great news for me, as I love Cinnamon Dolce lattes!

6. And I really like this clutch:

technical difficulties

I had planned to bring you a post filled with photos of the new earrings I made the other day or scenes from our action-packed weekend but instead it’s going to be a random smattering of things due to the computer meltdown we’re currently in the middle of at our house. (We’re waiting to hear back from the computer doctors to see if we’ve lost some stuff or everything since the last back-up. Only a couple months worth, but still – those photos and videos are priceless.)

Anyway . . . let’s try to focus on something . . . else . . . like:

We definitely don’t need them though. We already have a perfectly good and very popular bird feeder and I am not convinced the bird house would ever become inhabited. I mean, if you were a bird would you really move into a house with a window for a wall and giant humans staring at you? I think not. But if some birds actually did move in, now that would be awesome. Kind of like The Real World for birds. I’d watch.

I just found these adhesive fabric wall stickers on Etsy and they are so cute and clever! They’re made in Australia by Mae and they’re just like the vinyl wall stickers you see everywhere, but these are made out of fabric and can be removed and reused and even washed! 

How great would these Dress up Dolls be for a little girl’s room?

We need a new bird feeder. A while back the squirrels destroyed the one Jane made at preschool and we haven’t gotten around to making a new one yet. I know we’ll do that one of these days because hers was so cute and easy to make . . . and surprisingly functional! But while we’ve been without one a few have caught my eye – just in case we never find that perfect milk carton . . .

here comes trouble

I saw in domino magazine that DwellStudio is debuting a line at Target next month. I am already getting antsy – bedding, table linens, furniture, and get this, a baby line! I love Dwell’s stuff and at Target prices it’s like a dream come true. More photos via apartment therapy here, here and here.
